BlueStar Forensic Mini Kit
Luminol-based chemiluminescent reagent for rapid detection of invisible blood traces in small target areas. Compact, individually wrapped tablet format. For forensic use only.
Compact Detection for Small Target Areas
The BlueStar Forensic Mini Kit is a complete kit ideal for investigating small areas. It is supplied with individually wrapped tablet pairs (reagent and oxidant) in sealed foil packs, designed to be dissolved directly into the included spray bottle of distilled water for immediate use.
The kit allows investigators to quickly detect the presence of invisible blood traces. A positive chemiluminescent reaction indicates a strong likelihood of blood presence, even after washing or cleaning of the surface.
BlueStar Forensic reacts with blood broadly. To support differentiation of human origin, a confirmatory rapid immunochromatographic test should be used as a follow-up step, with final confirmation conducted in a forensic laboratory per validated SOP. The reagent is non-destructive to DNA.

Intended Use
Defined scope of application for the BlueStar Forensic Full Kit in professional forensic and crime scene settings.
Latent Bloodstain Detection — Small Areas
The BlueStar Forensic Mini Kit is intended for the detection of minute, diluted, or thoroughly cleaned blood traces on small target areas at a suspected crime scene or on forensic exhibits. The chemiluminescent reaction produces a bright blue glow visible to the naked eye, without requiring total darkness.
The kit is intended for use by trained forensic scientists, crime scene investigators, and law enforcement personnel operating in accordance with validated standard operating procedures.
Scope & Limitations
Indicated for: Screening of surfaces including metal, plastic, and fabric for the presence of blood, including washed, diluted, or aged bloodstains.
Species specificity: BlueStar Forensic reacts with blood broadly and is not species-specific. Confirmation of human origin requires a follow-up immunochromatographic test, with final confirmation conducted in a forensic laboratory.
Not indicated for: Clinical diagnostic use, or as a standalone confirmatory test for human blood. Certain food residues or chemical substances may produce false positives; appropriate training is required for correct interpretation. For forensic use only.
Instructions for Use
The BlueStar Forensic Full Kit follows a straightforward preparation and application workflow suited to crime scene conditions.
Reagent Preparation
Dissolve one pair of tablets (white and beige, from a sealed foil pack) into one of the supplied 125 mL spray bottles of distilled water.
Spray Head Setup
Screw the adjustable spray head onto the bottle and set the spray pattern as required for the area being examined.
Application & Observation
Spray the prepared solution onto the surface under examination. A positive chemiluminescent reaction produces a bright blue glow at sites of blood deposition, visible without requiring total darkness. The reaction is stable and long-lasting, allowing time for observation and photography.
Documentation & Follow-Up Testing
Photograph and document luminescent areas per laboratory SOP. Where confirmation of human origin is required, proceed with a validated immunochromatographic rapid test, followed by final confirmatory analysis in a forensic laboratory.
Applications
Forensic settings where the BlueStar Forensic Full Kit is used for bloodstain detection and crime scene examination.
Crime Scene Investigation
Detection of latent or cleaned bloodstains at suspected crime scenes, including surfaces that have been washed, painted over, or otherwise concealed.
Violent Crime & Homicide Casework
Screening of scenes, vehicles, and exhibits for trace blood evidence in assault, homicide, and other violent crime investigations.
Cold Case Re-examination
Re-screening of archived scenes or exhibits where bloodstain evidence may have degraded, been cleaned, or was not detected using earlier methods.
Forensic Laboratory Training
Use of BlueStar Forensic Training Tablets to train personnel in distinguishing true blood reactions from potential false positives prior to live casework deployment.
Vehicle & Weapon Examination
Screening of vehicle interiors, weapons, and other evidentiary items for trace bloodstains not visible to the naked eye.
DNA Evidence Triage
Identification of probative bloodstain locations to guide targeted DNA sampling, since the reagent is non-destructive to DNA.
Key Benefits
Stronger Luminescence
Longer-Lasting Reaction
High Sensitivity
Total Darkness Not Required
