Microfluidic Cell Separation Principle

The SperŜort™ platform is built on iPreg's proprietary microfluidic cell separation technology. Using principles from fluid mechanics, microfluidics, rheotaxis, chemotaxis, and thermotaxis, the biochip is engineered for antibody-free selection and purification of sperm cells. This methodology replicates natural cellular environments, optimising both viability and functionality.

Sperm sorted by SperŜort™ demonstrate superior motility, morphology, and DNA integrity compared to conventional centrifugation preparation. The patented microfluidic sperm sorting chip enables separation of the most motile sperm from unprocessed semen — directly suitable for ICSI injection without further processing.

Beyond assisted reproduction, iPreg's core technology has broader applications in oncology (tumour cell isolation) and regenerative medicine (stem cell selection).
